Role Summary: The Field Engineer 6 provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Qualification/Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a Field Services role).

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to travel xx% of the time 
  • Must have a valid drivers license

Job Opening: Senior Integrity Engineer, General Electric Qatar


Role Summary
As a Senior Integrity Engineer within the Global Integrity Engineering Centre of Excellence team the post holder will be responsible for delivering the various Pipeline Integrity Assessments undertaken. The post holder will also be required to manage these varied Integrity Engineering projects through the OTR phase - including handover from Sales to Billing of Customer and also supporting Sales with Order Intake/Sales support when required. May be required to lead a small team within region.

Qualifications
• Bachelors of Science degree in an Engineering or Scientific subject. 
• 3 to 7 years practical experience in an engineering background 
• Professional verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills 
• Quality focused 
• Ability to work in and contribute in a Global team environment. 
• Occasional business travel required


Desired Characteristics
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (GE Employees only) 
• Experience in MFL, USWM, and USCD data analysis 
• Knowledge of pipeline defect types 
• Understanding of basic pipeline integrity fundamentals


Essential Responsibilities
• Conduct fitness for purpose evaluations of pipelines based on corrosion, fracture mechanics and other mechanical engineering principles 
• When required conduct risk assessments of pipeline systems and segments and prioritize for further evaluation 
• Prepare high quality written technical reports 
• Present the results of the various integrity engineering assessments undertaken – (at GE or customers facilities, as required) 
• Carryout QA reviews on the various technical reports prepared by their team members 
• Manage the project execution in terms of main contract deliverables - Delivery, Scope Compliance, Quality, Profitability 
• Identify potential problems and resolution during project by highlighting potential areas of concern and driving issue resolution that affect project execution. 
• Provide sales support on an as needed basis 
• Mentor, guide and increase the technical knowledge of their team members 
• Where appropriate visit customer facilities to collect the required input data 
• Participate in pipeline integrity NPI projects as needed 
• Deliver pipeline integrity related training to other team members and/or customers 
• Key involvement in Qatar Petroleum OTR execution and relationship with customer 
• Support actively Integrity Engineering selling in the ME

EEDP's at Power & Water experience technically challenging rotations that are driven by innovation. Edison Engineers are currently working to develop expertise in the Power Generation Industry. The core engineering skills gained in assignments are enhanced through GE advanced courses in engineering (ACE).

Candidates will be expected to complete their masters in core engineering from the University of Georgia Technology or North Carolina State University through distance learning. Corporate courses are also provided. Four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering; Majors in Electrical, Mechanical, Aero or Materials only will be considered.

In GE Oil & Gas Pressure control business the main role of the FSE is to provide superior Service Quality for the instillation of Well Head equipment on both land and offshore locations.
The Field Service Engineer works within defined parameters to make decisions, apply standard operating procedures to complex field related situations, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. In GE Oil & Gas Pressure control business the main role of the FSE is to provide superior Service Quality for the instillation of Well Head equipment on both land and offshore locations. Other responsibilities are, and not limited, the following: 
• Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installation • Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troubleshoot equipment's failures. • Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites • Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering ability • Maintain knowledge of applicable product line warranties, and accomplish effective warranty administration • Plan, prepare and/or instruct both internal and external training programs as required, to impart and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge in area of specialization • Perform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis • Maintain knowledge of the report system to the extent required for timely and accurate input of field information necessary • Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites • Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards • Knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintage • Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages
