| "This job is for the GE Power & Water Business" EEDP's at Power & Water experience technically challenging rotations that are driven by innovation. Edison Engineers are currently working to develop expertise in the Power Generation Industry. The core engineering skills gained in assignments are enhanced through GE advanced courses in engineering (ACE). Candidates will be expected to complete their masters in core engineering from the University of Georgia Technology or North Carolina State University through distance learning. Corporate courses are also provided. Advanced academic exposure, experience and training combined with mentoring and guidance from assignment managers, prepares members with the technical skills and values needed to achieve a successful career in technology. | |
| Four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering; Majors in Electrical, Mechanical, Aero or Materials only will be considered. GPA greater than or equal to 3.25/4.0 overall (University of Georgia Tech. requires 3.3 for entry) Knowledge of advanced mathematics, including calculus and differential equations. Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering, manufacturing, or computer science/computer engineering. Experience writing technical reports. Must be willing to relocate as business needs change. Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms. Candidates must be able to gain acceptance to the University of Georgia Technology or North Carolina State University for Masters in Engineering Program. Candidate must qualify for J1 US Visa requirements. Candidate must be able to receive acceptable scores for GRE and TOFEL for University acceptance. | |

| The Field Service Engineer works within defined parameters to make decisions, apply standard operating procedures to complex field related situations, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. | The Field Service Engineer works within defined parameters to make decisions, apply standard operating procedures to complex field related situations, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. In GE Oil & Gas Pressure control business the main role of the FSE is to provide superior Service Quality for the instillation of Well Head equipment on both land and offshore locations. Other responsibilities are, and not limited, the following: • Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installation • Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troubleshoot equipment's failures. • Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites • Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering ability • Maintain knowledge of applicable product line warranties, and accomplish effective warranty administration • Plan, prepare and/or instruct both internal and external training programs as required, to impart and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge in area of specialization • Perform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis • Maintain knowledge of the report system to the extent required for timely and accurate input of field information necessary • Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites • Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards • Knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintage • Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages | |
| · Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a Field Services role) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: · Willingness and ability to work on land and offshore rigs · Must have a valid drivers license | |
