  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.

The Field Service Engineer works within defined parameters to make decisions, apply standard operating procedures to complex field related situations, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. In GE Oil & Gas Pressure control business the main role of the FSE is to provide superior Service Quality for the instillation of Well Head equipment on both land and offshore locations. Other responsibilities are, and not limited, the following: 
• Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair and calibration after installation • Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troubleshoot equipment's failures. • Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance at customer's sites • Develop and further expand technical knowledge and expertise, currently recognized industry standards for engineering ability • Maintain knowledge of applicable product line warranties, and accomplish effective warranty administration • Plan, prepare and/or instruct both internal and external training programs as required, to impart and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge in area of specialization • Perform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis • Maintain knowledge of the report system to the extent required for timely and accurate input of field information necessary • Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites • Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards • Knowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintage • Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outages
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a Field Services role) 
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: · Willingness and ability to work on land and offshore rigs · Must have a valid drivers license

Q) How did you join OMV, what was the process?
Trainee Engineer Positions was advertised with eligibility criteria of 3+ GPA. Test was conducted and shortlisted candidates were interviewed. I was not shortlisted in the 1st interview cycle. However I got the interview call later.

Q) In your opinion, which key qualities did you have which enabled you to join OMV?
Team player, initiative and supportive.

Q) What have been some of the key achievements of your professional life & student life so far?           
 My current position speaks volumes of what I have accomplished so far. I have always followed the path which supported me in bringing my dreams into reality for goal without plan is just a wish!

Q) Did you work at some other company before OMV? If so, then which was it? What about internships?
Yes I  have worked as internee in Descon and Nespak.

Q) What are the best parts & not to good parts that you have experienced in your job?
There are equal opportunity drives, “Being treated as a girl, is good and bad both. Good because you get the opportunity to be the first drop of rain in and playing your part in bringing about gender diversity and equal opportunities. Had I been a boy, opportunities would not just have walked up to me.
Cons: no matter what, middle management would still treat you as a female or some fragile specie. So sometime we have to go beyond what we are supposed to do, just to prove what we are capable of.

Q) What advice can you give to others who want to join OMV?
OMV believes in “MOVE and MORE” so we get the chance to see changes in team often. Those who want to join in, well they must
1. Keep their eyes open for any kind of upcoming position. 
2. If they get selected, they should not rethink. 
There is ample space to grow. It’s a good place to develop your professional personality because of effective interaction at all levels. The open door policy aids in development of skills.
