Q) How did you join Qatar
Shell, what was the process?
I saw the vacancy on linkedin and applied. A couple of
interviews and through.
Q) In your opinion, which key qualities did you have which
enabled you to join Shell?
Relevant work experience with academic qualifications
(engineering plus MBA), communication skills, relevant certification from the
most prestigious certifying body in the field.
Q) What have been some of the key
achievements of your professional life & student life so far?
Student life: opportunity to serve
ASME on local national and international level.
Professional: timely growth, opportunity
to work on key departmental objectives, professional development coupled with
academic upgrades.
Q) Did you work at some other
company before Shell? If so, then which was it? What about internships?
1st employer was Mari
Petroleum, 2nd was PARCO, 3rd is Qatar Shell.
Q) What are the best parts & not to good parts that you
have experienced in your job?
Best parts: frequent job rotations, important assignments
Not so good parts: bureaucratic work processes of national
organizations like MPCL and PARCO.
Q) What advice can you give to others who want to join Shell?
Being competitive in terms of work experience, contemporary
business practices and constant build-up of professional credentials. Key is,
learn to learn, unlearn and re-learn.
